Environmental Communication

From San Isidro S.C.C.-LM – Bodegas Latúe, in line with our commitment to the environment and in compliance with ISO 14001:2015 standards and environmental improvement efforts, and with the aim of monitoring our suppliers and subcontractors to ensure their environmental practices align with our pollution prevention policy, we have developed an OPERATIONAL WASTE CONTROL. Therefore, we inform you of its existence and that it is available to you upon request.

To help you understand the environmental requirements with respect to our company, we have attached a summary of the key aspects of the OPERATIONAL WASTE CONTROL that directly affect you. We hope you demonstrate your commitment to the environment, as we assume you share our values.

Environmental Requirements for Suppliers/Subcontractors

LOADING/UNLOADING OF CHEMICAL SUBSTANCES

  • Avoid spills during loading/unloading operations.

  • Properly identify the containers of chemical products.

  • Have the safety data sheets for the chemical products used.

  • In the event of a spill, collect the substances using absorbents (sand or sepiolite) and manage them correctly.

HAZARDOUS WASTE

  • Ensure the correct separation and management of hazardous waste according to current legislation.

  • Never dispose of hazardous waste in urban waste containers or in containers for other hazardous waste.

INERT WASTE / C&D WASTE

  • Inert waste or construction and demolition waste must be managed according to current legislation.

  • Do not mix them with other types of waste, such as urban or hazardous waste.

DISCHARGES

  • Legalize the discharge with the competent authority.

  • Do not discharge prohibited hazardous substances into the sewage system.

  • If any accidental discharge occurs during work that could contaminate the environment, report it as soon as possible to the competent public authority.

NOISE

  • The machinery used must be in perfect maintenance condition to avoid unnecessary noise.

  • Vehicles must have a valid ITV (Technical Inspection of Vehicles).

  • The machinery must have CE marking or a machinery compliance certificate if it was manufactured before 1995.

  • Where applicable, the machinery must have the corresponding declaration of conformity regarding noise and the logo indicating the guaranteed acoustic protection level.

EMISSIONS TO THE ATMOSPHERE

  • Vehicles must have a valid ITV (Technical Inspection of Vehicles).

  • Equipment must be properly maintained, and if necessary, it should have passed inspections by the relevant Control Authorities.

OPTIMIZATION OF CONSUMPTION AND MINIMIZATION OF WASTE GENERATION

It is recommended that companies follow good environmental practices to minimize the impacts caused by their activities:

  • Water consumption: Turn off taps when not in use, ensure proper maintenance to avoid leaks, avoid unnecessary water usage (for example, not using the toilet as a trash can).

  • Electricity consumption: Use energy-efficient equipment, make the most of natural light, avoid overuse of heating/cooling equipment, set computers to energy-saving modes, turn off lights and equipment after use.

  • Fuel consumption: Follow the guidelines for efficient driving techniques.

  • Minimize waste generation: Prioritize the purchase of products packaged in the largest possible containers, avoid unnecessary packaging, optimize product usage.

Ensure the Separation of Urban Waste

  • Yellow container: Packaging

  • Blue container: Paper and cardboard

  • Green container: Glass

  • Gray container: Organic waste

Subcontractors must make available to the Environmental Management System Responsible at San Isidro S.C.C-LM – Bodegas Latúe the documentation related to the vehicles (ITVs, CE certificates, maintenance records, quality or environmental certificates, etc.).

The companies subcontracted by San Isidro S.C.C-LM – Bodegas Latúe must enter through the designated areas and comply with the legal provisions applicable to their products, services, and activities.

In case of a spill, leakage of hazardous products, fire, or any other environmental incident, it must be immediately reported to the Environmental Management System Responsible.

Note: The applicable environmental legislation, as well as the main environmental aspects that may arise and the actions to be taken for each of them, can be consulted with the Environmental Management System Responsible.
